It has been very hard to keep my plants healthy over the winter and partifularly Spring season 2012. We are in a real drought situation, with still nor rain & hot summer weather. The stunning ‘Toothbrush’ flower grows on this large shrub and professes to flower most of the year. I am looking forward to it growing and am giving it plenty of T.L.C.

We also had a plague of flying beetles, never seen before clouds of the little critters who covered many of my white an pale blossomed plants and sucked the life out of the flowers with in a matter of a couple of days. They hung around until the weather really started to warm up and now there are just a few that fly around the lights at night.

I guess you could call me a shutterbug, I am for ever looking for something to photograph, and experimenting with my camera. Colour lights up my life, children, scenery, the sea in all it’s moods, native flora & fauna etc:- Please feel free to browse through the categories in my profile.

Stunning colour Rita – have never seen this colour before ! Hope you manage to get rid of the bugs before they do damage.

  • Isn’t it! I was so thrilled when the first central flower came out it was huge, you can still see where the stamens just dropped off. I was very disappointed but thankfully the bugs have gone now the Ants are loving it. Thank you for your comments.

  • You are very sweet MissyD, I married just before my 22nd birthday. Today couples are leaving it longer but we have such good times with our Grandchildren I am happy it worked out well for us. Thank you for your lovely comment.
I found a ‘Moonlight’ Grevillea in the C.Park we stayed at in Geelong I took a couple of shots. Our garden is in a terrible plight we have lost so much a very busy cleaning out and re-planting time ahead for us once we get some rain. Rita:)
