We enjoyed a fun day in the pouring rain at Paronella Park just recently. It is the ruins of ‘One Mans Dreams’ built on land purchased in 1929. The tropical weather and one of the wettest places in Australia didn’t deter the Spaniard who first came to Australia in 1913. He built his Castle for his wife with numerous staircases around the undulating land & all now covered in rich lichen. He made his money by working hard in the cane fields and then buying his own cane field then multiplying them. Over the top of the falls is a swinging bridge but to wet and misty to venture on it today. It was a matter of trying to keep the camera dry under a large umbrella.
