This can be seen often on properties that have grown gum trees along the paddock fences in times gone by. The growing Eucalyptus slowly consumes the fence post. Note the old fence wire that passed through the fence post & onto the next in line. The posts were usually cut from fallen gum trees.

  • Awww! Thank you Judy, we were exploring on holiday in a country town down a rough track between the properties. We found lots of very old fence posts with wire attached on our property when we bought it. In the old days the farmer just dropped the old when he put in the new. That is not allowed anymore.:)Rita.
