Looking from behind the popular rock formation ‘The Bread Knife’ across the vast Warrumbungle Nat. Park, N.S.W. Australia. Great for Camping, trekking, walking, climbing, birds, flora & fauna a great place to get away with children in the big outdoors for exercise, fun, exploring. Instead of Computer games in the school holidays. Spring is a great time to visit.
We went with a couple of good walking friends of ours for over a week, had a wonderful time & were very proud to have made it to the top. We ate our packed lunch on top. It does have degrees of difficulty so we just took them slowly and carefully.
The camping area is way back in the clearing.
So sad to see that it burnt out so disastrously in the recent fires in Coonabarabran. It will of course grow back again but will take a little time.

Olympus Compact Camera SP – 500 UZ ED lens,

I guess you could call me a shutterbug, I am for ever looking for something to photograph, and experimenting with my camera. Colour lights up my life, children, scenery, the sea in all it’s moods, native flora & fauna etc:- Please feel free to browse through the categories in my profile.

Gosh that looks like quite a hike, but well rewarded by this view, seemingly stretching on forever…

  • We have a couple we holiday with we like doing the same things and around the same age, we all felt very proud of ourselves. Of course we stopped along the way ‘to admire the view’ a few times. hehe.

    STUNNING Rita!
you can feel that dry heat and hear the crackle of the bush serenaded by the birds and the rustle of the wind in the trees and the incessant cicadas!
    Gorgeous view!
    Chookas! ♥Ü♥

  • Spot On! Thank you for your comments much appreciated. A couple we do holidays like this with were just as thrilled as us to make it to the tops. We had a few stops to ‘admire the view’ hehe but good excuse for more photos.
