Paint Brush Lily! 'Arilka' Mount Pleasant. S.Aust. by

Please click on image to view larger,

This is the most profuse flowering we have enjoyed of this aptly named Lily.
When if first appears from the rounded crust at ground level it looks like a paint brush as it grows until the flower burst open. The New Holland Honeyeaters love the nectar in these flowers and because of the tropical rain event we enjoyed last month they are looking splendid. Autumn, Mount Pleasant, Adelaide Hills. Sth. Aust.

I guess you could call me a shutterbug, I am for ever looking for something to photograph, and experimenting with my camera. Colour lights up my life, children, scenery, the sea in all it’s moods, native flora & fauna etc:- Please feel free to browse through the categories in my profile.
