We really enjoyed exploring the coast line around the beach. History, views, interesting rock pools, and aging parts of the cliff that have broken away.It was easy walking over the mainly flat rocks a firm sand on the tide line warm but hazy from the sea.
This area of the coast on the Southern Ocean, Bass Strait is famous for ‘The Rip’ where in the early days many boats were caught and shattered on the rocks with loss of life. Some years ago the rocky sea bottom was hollowed and since then it has been much easier for boats and shipping to continue through the narrow gap between Mornington Peninsular and Point Lonsdale to gain the Port of Melbourne.
