Mannum is a little country town along the River Murray. A very large flock of Little Corella’s have taken over about 9 large gum trees along side the dock where the River Boats tie up. There are lawns and seating and points of interest. Now the ground is littered with twigs, small branches still with leaves attached that have been literally bitten off by the strong beaks of these native parrots. Unfortunately these large flocks can hang around for weeks until the trees are denuded of foliage. Then they move on.
The Parrots are very acrobatic and entertaining to watch but it is a pity that they are so destructive. The sky was very overcast and the creamy white birds didn’t show up as they do against a blue sky.
