Geelong Council has really livened up the Waterfront and it is a lovely to walk along the front finding different points of interest and entertainment. There are many of these colourful bollards depicting many different occupations. They always bring a smile to the face and the children love them.
We were so taken with them we didn’t look for parking meters and incurred a $70 fine on our first morning out!!! It did take the shine off our adventure.

I guess you could call me a shutterbug, I am for ever looking for something to photograph, and experimenting with my camera. Colour lights up my life, children, scenery, the sea in all it’s moods, native flora & fauna etc:- Please feel free to browse through the categories in my profile.

Someone had a great idea Rita – this is something different. Typical council, distract your attention then pounce on your wallet ! That’s a steep fine, our’s are $40.00 !

  • Thank you for your great comments!
We were stunned believe me and it certainly gave us a sick feeling in the stomach. Apparentley they have a camera on the meters and when you park and walk away they send notify the ticket man straight away. There was a 3 min. time from when we parked to the ticket slap. Of course we should have known better parking meters are everywhere you go and expensive in OZ. It was me anxious to use my camera., good job I have a patient husband.

Sorry about the fine. It sure spoils the day.

  • It did bowl us over but then we should have known better. It was my fault rushing off camera in hand!!!!
Thank you for the sympathy John.
