Meeting up with Myra and her husband Frank in ‘Maclean’, N.S.W. worked out well. Neither of us had any idea how we each looked but the meeting arrangement went off very well with Myra standing on the corner opposite the Coffee Shop we found from her directions. Not quite waving her arms about but looking intently at each car that passed gave us a clue she was looking for us.
Myra introduced us to her favourite Coffee outlet and phoned Frank to let him know we had arrived. We all got on well together with a visit to Myra & Franks lovely Heritage Trust house, chat in the snug, a walk around the garden and then we all agreed to go out and eat lunch. The weather was great and all in all a good meeting all round.
After moving up the coast and stopping over in Forster/Tuncurry we are now in Kingscliff. There is so much beauty not only along the coast, the Tweed River and the beautiful hinterland we have decided to extend our stay another week.
Gail called for us on Tuesday and took us for a photo-shoot at Fingal Head, it was wonderful, Gail is a mine of information and knows all the names of every point of interest and very giving with her time. Gail decided that Wednesday looking like another great day weather-wise she would have time to take us on a scenic drive through the lovely little towns and show us some of her favourite spots in & around the Tweed River. One of Gail’s friends came along to share the day and we finished up eating a late lunch at the Tumbulgum Hotel built in 1897 overlooking the Tweed River.
Thank you to both Myra & Gail for being so warm and friendly and agreeing to meeting up. We have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of meeting people with like minds, the love of nature & photography.
