Lost In Space & Time by Lacey Scarbro

Crayons, paint, & varnish on textured card stock.

Inspired by a scatterbrained feeling of just kind of being lost & not having a sense of time or where I was, knowing, in reality, where I was.

Dealing with severe insomnia brings on this feeling alot & also produces many wild, surreal dreams when I do sleep, for the very small amount of time that I do.

Hi Lacey , how interesting and lovely the way you did this, quite a creation …So sorry to hear that you have severe insomnia and wild dreams..wild dreams could be interesting as long as they are not bad ones…our mixed up feelings sure come in our dreams..don’t they…
Sherri:):) happy huggs and happy dreams LOL

  • Thanks Sherri!
Yes, I love my dreams, good or bad, I love them ALL.
Even when I have a terrible dream that gives me a bad feeling throughout the day, I know it’s for a reason. And there are always interesting elements even when they are horrifying!

I live in my dreams and would hate to have insomnia! This is beautiful! Keep pushing onward friend!!!…)o(

  • I LOVE my dreams & hallucinate when I am awake for 3-4 days. If I am awake 2-3 days I can close my eyes & “see dreams”. It’s not the same, but I still love that.
I ALWAYS dream when I do sleep & If I didn’t dream I would be SO SAD!
And I intend to push forward!
    Much appreciated!

Great work! I think that as long as you are dreaming, you’ll get through the insomnia. I tend to sleep so lightly at night that I don’t dream. It’s the main reason that I take a nap in the afternoon. That’s the only time that I have the quiet that I need to sleep soundly enough to dream and, like you, I have vivid dreams. This is so interesting! It’s like an optical illusion. It looks like a space scene at first glance, and then I feel like I’m looking into a person’s eye.

  • Thank you so much!
I do like the depth I was able to achieve here & I thought the same thing actually, but it’s funny, bc the piece was originally made upside down. It did not look quit right & when I flipped it over, I immediately saw the almost “hypnotic” pull!
