The image above is of a rosehip from an english rose. It was taken during the snow in early 2010 in my garden in Kent, using a 28-100mm lens with a +10 for the close up effect.
The shot is unclutterd and simple, excentuating the colours and crispness of the rosehip itself. The snow and drab background colours give a sense of cold to the shot, which is contrasted nicely by the bright orange of the subject. The head of the rosehip is sharp, and the stem soft, so as not to distract from the impact colours, and add depth to the scene.
