Some random thoughts for the morning I felt like sharing.
“What would you attempt for God if you knew you could not fail?” a quote taken from a friend, Alan Chapkins’ facebook status.
You could ask the question differently and say “what would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?”
Rather than answering the question itself what this sort of question did for me was to simply take away the thoughts that make me feel clusterphobic and opened up space to breathe and smile and opened up an invitation in my head to come and play. It just opened a world of possibilities and removed all constraints. Perhaps there are none. Perhaps we believe too much in the supposed limitations that we have walled ourselves within them and so only ever play obediently to the rules of the limitations we hear in our heards. Thus we cannot see how much further the land of possibility expands. And so we do the best we can according to the size of the voice of the empire in our heads that blows the whistle to keep is in line and within the constraining walls. And perhaps we are stuck in that room and we cannot see what else is to be seen? What else exists? Slaves of what we know even if it is good because we cannot see the beckoning “what else” and the more of God and the ever calling invitation to see the greatest and bigness of God that dwells already within each and every one of us.
Perhaps it is just I who smiles at the possibility of what this question could mean and so I am a lot slower to answer it because I cannot help to think what I could be invited to and the magnificence and largeness of that which I have not yet thought or imagined before?
