Simply splendid my friend! Beautifully done…and so expressive! I think that is what I love most about your work…it isn’t ‘flat’….all your pieces reflect some sort of emotion from the subject. I especially love this particular piece and the kind look on his face and the twinkle in his eyes…to still be able to project an air of “the joy of living” after enduring all that he had is remarkable and it is remarkable that you were able to capture it! Truly an inspirational piece of work!

A remarkable piece of artwork of a remarkable man, Paul. The light playing on his face is wonderful and those eyes have ‘life’ in them! You create such a likeness of the ‘sitter’ with minimal detail. Your detail is in the rivulets of paint and brush strokes and light and shade. A marvellous image my friend, and I do hope that you and Anne had a great Christmas!!
Christmas greetings dear Angie , your lovely kind words and descriptive critique so inspired me to the max , I am so glad you see the minimal detail , and the light & shade which is all I can do in my portraits ….. new watercolours and new pads & brushes so I’m raring to go ha ha. We are looking after Frankie for three days , so I am off to feed and bed him down for the day , and a wee plate of ham going his way ! Bong ! His diet will never work with me about . Anne says Hi ..
