Graduated with BA (Hons) illustration a few years ago.
Taking photographs has always been an addiction of mine… I’ve been doing it for many years now, but only ever with a view to using them as a reference when painting.
I’ve always kept my photographs hidden away in case any fellow artists steal my ideas – I want my paintings to be original and unusual.
A few days ago I was looking through all the photographs I’ve taken over the last couple of years & decided it was time to share how beautiful nature is.
My images have not been photoshopped – they don’t need it; nature is amazing & cannot be improved upon.
I favour using a subtle palette & muted tones… So many people manipulate their images & often lose the great textures – then the work looks very ‘smooth’ rather than natural… a real shame!
