Mostly fine, chance of a shower
This is for Mike, one of the weather guys on the Cocos Islands. Everyday we would ask him what the forecast was, and everyday he would reply “Mostly fine, chance of a shower”! I guess this was the “chance of a shower” bit! Mike is a great guy with lots of wonderful stories from his time spent living all around Australia.

Daniella
shower !!! more like a rip roaring cracker of a storm..fantastic catch
Louise Cooke replied
Thanks heaps Daniella! You know the weird thing is that they don’t get thunderstorms over there! I think the weather guy Mike said it was because there is not enough landmass for them to develop. So these amazing clouds pass all the time without making much noise – bizarre!
Phil Thomson IPA
WOW, Louise !!! Very stunning image, especially in B&W. I guess with this sky there was a rather large chance of a shower!
GerryMac
awesome capture Louise! fantastic as a BW! adds so much depth to the image!
billyboy
Louise, this is one of the most stunning BW shots I`ve seen in ages. Your massive dynamic range applies to the weather as well as your superb processing, and your rendering of the sky and sea would bring fear to the hearts of the most hardened mariners… nice work!
Louise Cooke replied
Hey Billy Boy, thank you so much, as I often feel I struggle a bit with b&w…so I’m just a bit darn happy that you think this is a goodie!
Zaldy Infante

Jared Revell
What a great image Louise.
Those clouds look so threatening in the B&W.
I can just imagine how good this would look on a wall with a black frame.
Louise Cooke
