The school social theme was red…….way more inspiring than Dress as your favourite Celebrity or Dress as an Olympic Sports Star
Someone I know loves red almost as much as I do.
Red is very invigorating in winter.
Today the Earth reached the Aphelion. I am feeling quite excited about getting closer to the sun.

I like to play. I find joy in small things and moments where the edge between conscious looking and subconscious seeing becomes soft enough for me to be there for a moment.

gorgeous in every way – colour, texture, comp and girl! I love red, too. This really is a fabulous shot Lou!

  • She was all ready when I got home from work and I had to grab my camera instead of the coffee I was hanging out for! Hope you are well and cheery Evelyn! Thank you

red is nothing without the other colours to talk to,
beautiful intensity, contrast and light :)

  • So true. Red in combination with some particular purples or blues can be so deliciously zingy I get goose bumps! Hope you are all well! x

Perhaps the future first woman to head Dior.

  • Oh goodness, I hope not! (Not unless she is driven to be so and it makes her happy of course!:)) But yes, she has a fabulous natural sense of style that I envy sometimes….

Eleven! Adorable with such style sense! Love those polk a dot tights. Would have been a treat to have seen the halls of her school that day. Wonderful fashion shot.

  • Yes, they had the social in the evening and it was a lovely sea of red and noisy children! I love that you should say halls of her school because I was thinking about that recently – most Australian schools are quite spread out and rooms are connected by veranda or courtyard rather than enclosed halls. Our climate really is mild enough to make this possible. I remember finding the schools I went to in the US at various intervals so intensely enclosed I found it oppressive after becoming used to the open nature of our schools. Thank you Lucin!

Is that a home made wall behind Abbey? (You know I love concrete).

  • It is a home made wall – spray rendered over an armature consisting of two layers of star pickets, ringlock fencing and hessian – with a hollow space between the two sides. This is the first wall like this we made – Our updated technique, perfected on the second and larger wall incorporates bamboo stakes woven into the ringlock to vertically stiffen and stop slump when the sprayed render is applied. These are the walls that complete our courtyard where the buildings stop – and we have decorative iron grilled windows with a smooth lime render reveal for each. I will post a photograph soon to show what I mean!

so cute!! she is obviously very stylish!

  • very! We are blessed with a great local Ladies Hospital Auxilliary Opportunity Shop and bags and bags of interesting hand me downs, so my girls have always had plenty of clothes to experiment with – now they both have their own fabulous style – which has little to do with the latest in the shops!
