Well whatever -That is the name that came.
It has been an interesting time for me lately.

This old mattress has seen better days, but you know, they don’t make them like this anymore! This was made to last so well – and believe me, it has (and I won’t confess as to just how old it is, and that I am about to let my daughter sleep on it….in the interim before a new one is procured….) But hey – what is the greater evil dust mites and detritus of a thousand years or brand spanking new off gassing foam and who knows what xenoestrogenic toxic delights?? You tell me.

I really like this the old buttons and fabric, got to say the old mattressess are better the new ones are so expensive as i had to get a new double one Ahhh what a price i had to pay. Dust mites can be vaccumed, mattress cover or blanket to go under sheets. In this world think we need to go back to make do and mend. Sorry just looked through bag of things my girls no longer need or want some clothers hardly warn, glad to say will be given to the charity shop.

  • I have that frugality built in – why I am surrounded by stuff – it could be fixed, might be useful, will do for now…. Still..if you only knew just how old this baby is! (maybe I should pop in to the 50 things group….!)

great shot, lou – now if you could just get a zebra to lie down on it! Lol! I slept on a horsehair mattress for years – nothing wrong with venerable dustmites!

  • Heh heh…turns out the poor old thing is pretty squishy. Darn – may have to opt for xenoestrogenic nasties after all…Thank you belatedly Nadine!

Yes, dustmites are better than “xenoestrogenic toxic” gases and such — take the mattress out into the sun and jump on it for a while to dust it out, LOL. Nice photo — very evocative.

  • A late thank you Betty! We did hit it and whack it. Sadly, I think this old dear may finally be too saggy after all..

LOL..I am loving what you wrote with this..I think I would take the dust mites over the chemicals..Great perspective..

  • A late thank you Kim! Have survived two really full on months! Now I’m back to a bit of normality…I hope!

This is such a cool shot!! Looks like this one has aged beautifully…and…a matress never reveals it’s true age ;-))

  • And a really really late thanks Angie! Sadly, this old girl is gonna have to go..my 13 year old has declared she is getting a sore neck from it!
