I have been eyeing off all of the stunning works that depict sunflowers here on RedBubble with lust and envy. Sadly me and Sunflowers have had a bad run. Bunnies love ‘em, Slugs love ’em, neighbour’s errant peacocks love ‘em, grasshoppers love ’em. And I’m sure a whole host of other hungry critters love them – not to mention rodents and birds fossicking out the seeds as they are germinating. I have three, out of 2 whole packets of seeds. They are only about my thigh height, and I am a shortass. But 3 sunflowers I am enjoying nonetheless.

I am mindfully cropping to suit new card format….see?
I like to play. I find joy in small things and moments where the edge between conscious looking and subconscious seeing becomes soft enough for me to be there for a moment.

Enjoying it too.
Cheers Betty! This new card format is a bit tricky for me, as I compose in camera, and the format is a lot narrower. If I upload the image ratio that comes from my camera, the card doesn’t look too flash! Meanwhile, I’ll love my sunflowers while they last!!

beautiful detail, lou and transillumination!
Woohoo! Now there’s a word…..transillumination – gotta look it up…I have, and I love it! Transillumination is something I have always found captivating. I have a transilluminated pomelo on the way, when I can get to it!

hah! got you back for ‘aliquot’! lol
wonderful capture love the light through the petals and the fluffyness of the green bits. Im terriable with sunflowers i never water them enough. wonder if you could grow them in pots near your house?
I think when they are grown in pots they tend to be a bit stunted..but mine are stunted anyway – so maybe I should try!
Thank you Karen!
