A bit clutzy – experiment with adjustment layers and gradient layer in photoshop. Australia Day Play!
Folding is the laundry job I have hated most of my adult life. I have been training myself to embrace it! I have many strategies. One of the best is from my dear, wise ex neighbour Donna: Weather permitting, fold straight off the line. It is lovely to be outside with the sky, trees, birds, air. Another strategy is to make it a fun thing with my daughters. A challenge, a race or just us doing stuff together.
I always sort as I fold now, into separate baskets for each member of the family…then it is their job from then on! I remind them that the longer they leave it, the more likely spiders, centipedes, earwigs and cockroaches will take up residence!!
This gets my 12 year old moving real fast. (This is her stack by the way!)
There is something timeless and that resonates in a collective sense that goes with washing and all of the associated tasks. Mundane as they may seem, they are a thread that join us all. Learning to love those things that are part of the rhythm of day to day life seems to be my personal and deeply rewarding journey.
These days I don’t hate it nearly a much, but wow, it is a job that can sure accumulate if you don’t watch out!
