I have a passion for succulent plants. The vast array of forms is incredible, rich and diverse. A favorite of mine – Kalanchoe beharensis, Elephant Ear Kalanchoe or Felt Plant. This a a very large succulent plant, with massive soft velvety grey leaves. The stems are intriguing, and where the leaves separate, the scars can have a rather nasty point – not fun when you are wrestling a large specimen in a heavy ceramic pot…Photographing these softer specimens than mine, in my mother’s garden, I realize the scars are hearts. How come I never noticed that before?
Here can be seen the young and very softly loving heart shaped foliage…
Fujifilm Finepix, auto, macro, as is from camera.
