Yucca! by LouJay

Small (16.4" x 21.9")

Available to buy on…

Simple strappy structure, pointy take-your-eye-out foliage (I cut these points of, as I like the use of my eyes…) and delicious luminescent greenish cream bells.

Pingelly Western Australia

I like to play. I find joy in small things and moments where the edge between conscious looking and subconscious seeing becomes soft enough for me to be there for a moment.

I love the Yuccas form against your plastered wall the slight pinkinsh tinge to the plaster really brings out the green of the yucca, this is a wonderful image . really well spotted and taken. : )

  • Thanks Karen! I can’t wait to collect more species of Yucca – They are so architectural – and tough for my extreme conditions. (This is only second coat of render – a rough spray!)

Beautiful shot. We grow lots of these here in New Mexico and the wall really adds a lot. Looks like adobe. do you have photoshop at all?

  • Thank you CheyAnne! Yes, the render (stucco in your part of the world) does have an adobe look – one of the many reasons we chose to build in loadbearing strawbale. Tons of other reasons, but the earthen look to the walls appeals to me. This is a very rough second coat. Third light spray coat to go on yet. Inside is hand trowelled and sponged to give a very soft golden surface.
I do have photoshop, and gimp.

ps, can you really eat these and how would you prepare them?

  • Just using ‘delicious’ descriptively…! Don’t think these would be too tasty – far too stringy!
