The white faced heron I disturb nearly every morning during my walk. Usually he flies away well before I am anywhere near him. This is the very first time he decided to stay as I walked past on both outward and return journey. Either he is getting used to me after more than a year, or he was really really hungry, and the prospect of a potential froggy breakfast outweighed the habitual anxiety caused by my passing by. He is patiently watching and waiting, looking this way and that, down at the water, as he does every morning. Amazing there are any frogs left to reproduce really….
Fujifilm finepix s1500, scene recognition mode.
One day I’ll get me a real camera so’s I can do critters like this fellow justice….
