looking for the gifts in the present, each day for a year

After the rain, the termite alates or winged caste release and swarm, setting out to mate and make new colonies. In a sad but ethereally beautiful dance, so many drown slowly in bodies of water, slowly turning and making flowers with their wings, against a reflected sky as they float, caught on the surface of the water.

This has such impact! Flowery death. So ethereal!

  • Thank you lucin. I find them so sad, yet so beautiful too. All part of a bigger picture – food for something else I imagine…..
