Number 165 in my 365 project 1-100 and 101-200
looking for the gifts in the present, each day for a year

Lucky butterfly, to chance upon my florabundant garden in this dried out summer Western Australian wheatbelt countryside. Lucky me to sit down on the verandah after getting home from work, yes waiting for dinner to appear magically before me (and it did too – Japanese style eggplant, tofu and mushrooms with miso sauce and noodles….) to spot said butterfly indulging itself in the zinnias and hollyhocks, and to get a third chance at a photograph after dinner when it reappeared and I was organized with camera, that is after two earlier failed attempts.

Resting in the gorgeous scented foliage of a Kaffir Lime. Indeed a lucky butterfly.

I like to play. I find joy in small things and moments where the edge between conscious looking and subconscious seeing becomes soft enough for me to be there for a moment.
