Layers and Changes

When one starts to really look at a wall like this, all the stories and changes, repairs and modifications, start to reveal themselves. I look at this wall 3 days a week at least and sometimes more, when I drive down the lane on the way out from where I park my car at work. Every time, a different aspect of a seemingly simple and unremarkable wall catches my eye. I love this wall!

    gritty, I love it

  • LouJay replied

Thanks! It is the sides and backs of buildings which have so much more to tell than the facade sometimes. The facade is often kept pretty. I like gritty too.

What I like here is the way the downpipe and the grey cement sort of dance together – getting carried away here! the cement goes across – down- across and the pipe goes down-across-down! Anyway, that’s how I see it.

  • LouJay replied

Wow Elizabeth – I know who to call when I’m stuck for words! What a wonderful description of what I see in this part of this wall several times a week – and have not really made conscious until now. Thank you for such a insightful comment!

I bet I look at this shot at least twice a day, I know I have already commented, but its just so awesome!!

  • LouJay replied

Aw shucks Kim! Now I’m wondering how on Earth I accidentally created an image that seems work so well….and the scary thing is….can I do it again? Happy accidents and intuitive blundering about is how I seem to actually achieve anything!
