Crossing the Nullarbor by train was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Nullabor comes for the Latin for “without trees” … and this I can attest to. There is not much to see during the 42 hour train ride from Perth to Adelaide except sublime beauty in the vast, barren space blurring past the window.
