    Thanks very much Dave – this pastel was done on dark blue pastel paper & some of the paper is showing through in the background. This often works as an advantage with pastels, as you can use the various coloured papers as shadows or background effects.

    I’m not sure Louise, I think the stud was called Daisy Hill & was Marysborough VIC area, her mum competed in carriage events & my friend was doing combined driving with the stallion. They had also bred him over their hackney mare with outstanding results
