Louisa McHugh is a freshly emerging, figurative watercolor artist living in Los Angeles, CA. She was born in Uniontown, PA in 1978.
McHugh began her art career on the walls and furniture of her parents’ home. Encouraged by her parents to pursue the more soluble substance of watercolor, McHugh has always had positive assosiations with the medium. She began her education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and finished a BA in Cinematography at Columbia College.
McHugh came to Los Angeles in 2006 and after working for a year in the film industry, decided to transition back to her roots as a fine artist.
