Hello everyone,
I was born and brought up in the beauty of the richly diverse multi-cultural island of Mauritius which is greatly influential in my use of warm colours. The medium and media I work with are paints (acrylics, oil, watercolour and gouache) and prints. I draw a lot using oil pastels, graphite pencils and charcoal.
My main inspiration comes from the grounded spiritual and erotic elements that form an integral part of Indian art. Beyond these boundaries, I also bring into my work the connection of all the elements within the Universe which is like a thread that connects us all. With this idea in mind, I try to reflect in my paintings a harmonious blending of forms, colours and textures. Every new painting is an evocation of a new experiment: the discovery of the unknown.”
