About Lotacats

I’m a disabled nurse.

Chronic pain and then some problems, Used to have a real back yard full of horses and many critters.

I miss them all but I still hang on to cats.

When computers came into my life I could get active again and make use of my love for drawing to good use when I discovered these T Shirt shops I learned to draw with a mouse and here I am. I don’t have to ask my kids for any money any more. This has been so great!

definately hits the nail on the head !!

  • Thank you. I did it for the American Pain Foundation while they do their art thing. My legal disability started in 1999 but it was years in the coming and very confusing. I didn’t know what was going on and the docs are painfully (no pun intended) under educated in chronic pain. We hope the artwork helps the understanding. The ropes speak to the powerlessness we suffer while it hurts….and we need help and understanding. Up against a brick wall so to speak.

thanks for the reply, briliant art.. I was diagnosed almost straight away as my doctor knew me for years and could see I was ill and not getting better. …. but…. it didn’t help as no-one has a cure or any real help , I really thought I was going mad as he symptoms were just horrendously weird ,I kept working also as i was doing my arty things and loved it, everyday i thought tomorrow I will wake up better , so it tends to keep me going at the time. I have a supportive Husband with an income.. very lucky I was older too .my docs wife has it also.I dread seeing another dotor though,[mine is semi retired now] as you say most have no idea. I take a lot of hot showers through the night lately seems to be the best help.

I’m so glad you have the support. So many don’t. My doctor also knows me as I was a nurse in my other life. We have a good trust relationship and feels safe prescribing for me…..one of the drugs a literal life saver. I’m very fortunate for him and my two sons who live in this same town with me can help me get to the doctor once a month. I have a lot of family support. Thank heavens. I do T Shirts now and sale them online at other shops as well as this one and it makes me enough money to help myself with food and stuff. I don’t have to ask my kids for any and that is wonderful. Zazzle, Cafepress, Spreadshirt, Redbubble….It’s fun and keeps me out of trouble. Disability sux.
