We launched leggings! Step into a world of individuality.

This is the old Lorenzo Theater in San Lorenzo, CA. When my parents were in high school and college, they’d go to the movies here. I think I went once when I was really small, and I remember that it was just gorgeous inside! Beautiful lush maroon/red drapes, seats, walls, and celing, and a balcony. Shortly after that, it closed down, and there it’s sat ever since. There have been a lot of proposals from people who wanted to buy it and make it into a nightclub, restaurant, etc….but nothing ever happens to this poor old place. It just sits there.

How powerfully you present this feeling as it teeters between legend and decay… It’s as if you’ve wrapped a nostalgia into a gift package that we want to open… Yet know that the membrane between memory and realty is better left intact, eh? What a terrific story arc you trigger here.

  • I loved reading this comment from you, Ted! Thank you so very much!!! :)))

Cool shot. I used to go to this theater when I was a kid. Also the Bal in San Leandro and one in Hayward on Mission that I can’t remember the name of now.

  • Oh wow, did you?! How cool!!! And yep, I know the Bal, though I’ve never been inside…:) Thank you so, so much, Bob!!! :)))

Lovely work of a old building Laurie!!! Let’s hope someone will find a good idea how to take it in used again.

  • It’s been sitting there unused for about…maybe 25 or 30 years…It sure would be nice to see it restored to its old glory! Thank you so much, Jari!!! :)))
