Your sensitivity is testimony to your concious awareness when surrounded by people going all out to subdue their own…....drink, drugs, noise, perhaps over indulgency in a personality ethic, rather than a character based one….Appeasing the ego?..... You say “therapy”....... I say, is not creativity an act of healing in itself?
Is not art a manifestation of truth?.....And truth, no matter how painful it can sometimes be, is necessary before real healing can begin…....In that sense all art is therapy!....(My own art has come to take priority since a recent bout of stress and depression, and my ex partner can be quoted as stating in her profile; “My art keeps me sane”) There has often been a hairs breadth between insanity and artistic genius hey!......Not that I’m suggesting you’re crazy Laurie!......but definitely very talented.

I empathise totally with not being understood Laurie!.......It can be extremely painful when it happens with the ones you love and put your trust and belief in….But we are who we are regardless, and we should seek no ones approval, nor do we need to justify ourselves to anyone but ourselves!.......Life is for living and experiencing, and it’s an ultimately very singular and personal journey I feel.

Just as an amusing aside, I was once told by a Massai warrior in Kenya, after I had parachuted into the Don Don Mountains, that I was “Touched by God”....... The Arabs say if you are ‘touched by Allah’, you are mad…...but also blessed!

You will get there Laurie…it takes time…..but you’re a true ‘Warrior of light’ as Paulo Coelho calls those of us who are searching for truth in life…......I am into my own Autumn now, yet am still learning….... until very recently, I also was very much an approval seeker!......
