This is done in acrylic paint on canvas, and it reminds us to relax and enjoy life, to take time out and daydream.
Gorgeous colours, Lorna – well done :-)
Thank you so much Colleen, I just wish I could sell more, because this is what I love doing and I feel I am good at. (Hope that is not too selfish)

I adore this one. So soft and romantic. I especially love the reflection created in the water. Another of my faves of your silk work.xoxo

Thanks Linda, I appreciate it,
Your silk paintings are absolutely gorgeous Lorna
Thanks Alex, most of my art has stories behind them, this picture was when my hubby and I were lucky enough to go to Venice for his work and I wanted to go for a Gondola ride, but it was like several hundred dollars!!!! so the budget and my hubby couldn’t pay. So this painting was kinda abit dark and sad because I had gone around the other side of the world and couldn’t ride the gondola, (mind you I was very thankful just to have gone, and felt very lucky )anyway this story ends up happy becaus the next year we had to go back for a book fair and we went for a gondola ride, I was so happy. The gondola driver took us under a bridge and said that the venetians believed that couples that went under this bridge will stay together for an eternity. Lucky we love each other!
What a lovely story! You got your gondola ride after all (something I’ve always wanted to do) and a lovely romantic Italian story!Your work on silk is gorgeous…….in many ways it reminds me of an old school friend’s art, her name, coincidentally was Lorna, and she had real talent with painting on silk. I don’t know if she pursued the technique after she left school as she is now living in London and we are out of touch.
Wow that is coincidence, hope she has pursued it.Alex have you had a gondola ride on our Yarra? because they have a guy who has a gondola and takes passengers out front of the Casino, I’m not sure how much he charges, but would be good until maybe one day a trip to Italy!
I am so excited, ‘Venice Gondola’ has just been featured in Italy and all things Italian. Thank you so much David, especially on seeing all the fabulous photos of Italy, I am amazed. Have to say i love Itally and Venice, one of my favourite parts of the world, it is a shame the euro is so high.
