Translation Needed

Any help with translating this would be really appreciated.

It is a photo of a notice on the entrance to the former residence of the last emperor of China, Pu Yi, in Tianjin, China.

I have a feeling it says something like Trespassers will be prosecuted !

So I hope someone can put me out of my misery!

If it says that, they take an awfully long time to do it. Perhaps they describe in detail what will happen to a trespasser?

I think the Marquis De Sade had a Chinese cousin who was ostracised under this rule for writing obscene stories, and to get revenge he wrote this passage on the palace entry before jumping over the Great Wall to spend the rest of his days hiding out with the pandas in the bamboo forests, never to be seen again.Or something to that effect!

hmmm …indeed…but I heard that the story was that after he jumped the wall, he was befriended by wild rabbits and together they ran off and joined a circus! :-)

I am quite sure it doesn’t say tresspassers will be prosecuted!

This is cursive chinese writing- I hope i can help you out a little bit! I can’t make out quite a bit of the words as they aren’t very clear. But I have a feeling it is a notice to tell people about the building. Here goes my humble attempt!

According to the caretaker of this palace atop the mountain – the government of the Tianjin city dwellers(aka the Tian jin authorities) have started work to restore/preserve the artifacts contained in this building.
