Bridge on Hwy 17 just outside Schreiber, Ont by

Acrylic painting 14×18 of the rolling ‘hills’ here along the highway. The enormity of their height seems exxagerated in winter, when the snow highlights the cracks and crevices in the hills. Just amazing scenery here – a painters paradise.

NOTE – I was told this little river is called the Steele – but it is not the Steele River, and the location is just outside of Schreiber…..we have to find out the name of the river……..to be continued!

Oh nice. You’ve made a road great!! Your colors are really spectacular and true to life. Amazing work.

  • thanks Tammy – I appreciate the comment since you live in this neck of the woods also! Doug has a spectacular photo shot of this same spot – I worked from a photo taken in the moving truck! ;-)

this looks exactly like the hill right before Schreiber!

Wonderful painting. Question..Is this near Lake Superior? I remember when taking a trip to BC that we travelled along hwy #17? It followed Lake Superior and there were these beautiful hills that looked like small mountains. Absolute beautiful area.

  • yes it is……the best way to see is on google sattelite maps- the location is just outside of schreiber where the train tracks run underneath Hwy 17 – I found it on the sattelite too – those beautiful rolling hills along the highway
