Lonely in Swanston Street, Melbourne
Walking somewhere. Walking to somewhere else. The landscape of the city offers many adventures and distractions, none of which speak as an honest invitation. Footpaths are imprinted with forgotten soles, long since moved on and reached destinations. The air shifts in confused motion as establishments shout for recognition. A medieval scream from an industrial transportation device splits the moment as a crossroads is found. Ascending structures battle to block out nature, diverting birds and restricting light to appear as an afterthought. The path is clear for crossing and constant motion is required – a slight pause is made for realisation and a sigh of solitude.
