Sorry folks, another Barn Swallow babies picture. I just liked the angle on this one a little better……but they finally fledged so this should be the last one for this year.

The Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) is the most widespread species of swallow in the world. A distinctive passerine bird with blue upperparts, a long, deeply forked tail and curved, pointed wings, it is found in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas. The Barn Swallow is a bird of open country which normally uses man-made structures to breed and consequently has spread with human expansion. It builds a cup nest from mud pellets in barns or similar structures and feeds on insects caught in flight. This species lives in close association with humans, and its insect-eating habits mean that it is tolerated by man. Wikipedia

Awesome capture! I don’t think that one in the middle trusts you AT ALL! LOL

  • LOL! You are probably right…..or at the very least, he’s tired of me climbing up on a chair every day to record the progress of their growth by taking more pictures

They are lovely and we never tire of baby birds. Barb

  • Glad to hear I not boring you with too many similar pictures. After I posted the first one I took this one and just like it a lot better. I usually try not to put too many the same up at the same time.

  • Hey Chip! Thanks. It’s been so much fun watching these little guys grow up under our carport (except for when Mommy & Daddy bird would try to us around the head with their wings when we were too close to the babies.)
