A once-lovely old farm house, now being taken back by Mother Nature … slowly, gracefully. Found along a country road in Delaware, June of 2012. Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Lots of fun in Adobe Camera Raw, Photoshop, Photomatix pro and Capture NX2. My thanks to Jerry Jones of ShadowHouse Creations for the texture.

I had the feeling this old girl was still waiting for her family to come back. There was a sense of patient waiting, even though her future seems pretty hopeless to me, it didn’t seem like she quite realized that yet. Maybe it was because of the time of day … that golden hour … but I didn’t have the heart to do this image up all spooky and too dark … so I gave her a little hope in the summery colors.

Lois, what a charming house…..a spectacular find for you, Lois….your processing is just so perfect to really display the charm of this scene and the patch on the roof is priceless.

  • thank you so much, sweetie … I’m so happy you liked what I did. I admit I was tempted to make it all dark and forlorn looking … and I have other angles that I may do that with yet .. .but I did like the way this one turned out!!!!
