A photographic image digitally painted, tinkered with and tweaked of the beautiful Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC during the Cherry Blossom Festival, March, 2011. Image taken just as the overcast skies began to let in the early morning sunlight. Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Edited in Photoshop, Capture NX2, DAP, Adobe Camera Raw, Corel Paint 11 and Photomatix Pro. My thanks to Florabella and Lenabem for the textures.

My hopes indeed sometimes fail, but not oftener than
    the forebodings of the gloomy.”
