A step back in time … when the family watchdog was often a big, loud, aggressive, nasty-tempered goose!!! A compilation of two of my own images. The house was captured in Old Bedford Village in Bedford, Pennsylvania on October 3, 2010, and the image of the goose was captured at the Catoctin Zoo and Wildlife Center in Thurmont, Maryland May 5, 2011. The camera and lens used in both was the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikkor. My thanks to Anna Lenabem for the hint of texture.

Having walked some of the Venice (California) canals and been nipped at by geese, I understand the concept. :) I love the feeling of warmth in this image, and the slight glow. Great work, Lois!
Hi Celeste!!!! When I was a little girl, I’d spend weeks with my cousin at her farm. They had a HUGE white goose … just like this one … only about the size of a Mac truck … and that thing came after me whenever it had the chance!!!!!
