The pond down the road from our house is a lovely place, especially on a May evening. (Maryland, USA) Though there really are no swans there, I’ve always wished there were. This image is a compilation of two of my shots. The pond was taken with the Nikon D300 with the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens on an evening in May of 2010 in Montgomery County, Maryland, USA. The swan’s image was taken on an April morning with the Nikon D300 and the 150-500mm OS Sigma lens in Ontario, Canada. Combined in Photoshop CS4 and played with there and in Capture NX2.

A gorgeous creation. The shot of the swan is the prettiest I have ever seen! The wings are amazing.

  • Thank you so so much, sweetie!!!!! I had the focus thingie on the camera way over to one side and as this guy stood up and started fanning his wings I VERY nearly clipped the edge feathers off in the frame!!!! SO glad you enjoyed him … he was glorious!!!!

Excellent use of the two images!..The combination seems better than the individuals?.. A fine example of the art you can create!..D.
  • thank you!!!! What a lovely comment!!!! I find myself now taking pictures with the thought that someday I might add something to it … and leaving a space as I did with the pond image here. And the swan was along in it’s little blue bit of water .. the two just seemed made for each other!!! It’s FUN!!!!
