The azaleas were in full bloom when I stopped by the Brighton Azalea Garden in Montgomery County, Maryland last spring, May 13, 2009. Walking these paths has become something I look forward to every year. I’d like to thank Dennis … Canonman99 … for his guidance on the treatment of this image. I’m still working out the kinks, but what a fun learning experience!!

Angel, bless your heart!!!! Thank you … the whole place is a visual delight. and the fun part is, the different varieties of azalea and rhododendron are in full bloom at different times, which gives me a wonderful excuse to go back over and over!!!

OK, you’ve outdone yourself with this one, not an easy task. I love it. Perfect amount of sky showing.
Dave, thank you very much!!!! Through the trees there, you can also see just the barest hint of the Patuxent River. It’s a glorious spot in the springtime!!

Can’t wait for this to happen for real!! Like….. SUMMERRRRRRRR
This is gorgeous Lois! The colours, the Orton effect (yes??) , absolutely stunning. Puts a smile on my face :)
laughing I know, I know … I’ve got some so-so winter images in the camera … one or two of which might be worth PSing … but I’m just not inspired!!!! Summer and spring are calling me instead!!!!! Yes, there’s some Orton in this one … hdr too … and lots of other stuff. I actually worked this one up back in the fall, but I wasn’t in the mood to post a spring/summer image. Timing is everything!!!! I’m so happy you enjoyed this one!!!!!! Honestly, I was worried about the composition, the path scooting almost off the map to the left really bothered me … but I figured the eye is going to focus on the flowers first, then it’s always fun to give it someplace else to go afterwards!!!!
