Found this ancient chair at Old Bedford Village in Bedford, Pennsylvania in October of 2009. I liked its well-used appearance and the way the light hit the burlap in the background.

Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter speed 0.4, aperture f/13.0, exp. 0.00, iso 400. Post processing included addition of a light texture in Photoshop.

My thanks to Telzy on Flickr for the texture!!

Sometimes life makes me wonder whether it’s really a case of the old chair found you, or us, or whoever…But this chair found you Lois. You knew how to shoot it ! This is wonderful in character and story! Brilliant as ever!

  • Oh, Rosie … thank you!!! Goodness … I have goosebumps from your lovely, kind thought!!! I do know what you mean, though … I’m notorious (among my children) for giving life to inanimate objects. You know … YOU know … this little chair called to me. And this image?? It’s been calling to me, too, ever since I snapped it. Thank you!!!!!!
