This is the turret of the original school building of the Glenelg Country School, located in Howard County, Maryland. The title “Dragon’s Lair” comes from the school’s mascot, the dragon. Of course now Glenelg boasts beautiful modern facilities, but somehow all the structures have been done in keeping with the atmosphere of the glorious old home you see here which housed the first classrooms over half a century ago. A wonderful, nurturing but tough academic climate, small classroom sizes, outstanding faculty and staff. And the campus itself, as you can see, is a thing of beauty!!
Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens on July 26, 2009. Shutter 1/200, aperture f/7.1, exp. 0.00, iso 400. Post processing included HDR in Photomatix from a single hand-held image duplicated to evals of +/- 2, and the addition of a texture layer, blended in Photoshop.

OOO Bill … I love it!!! Thank you!!! I was tempted to go all mysterious looking with this one but just couldn’t bear to mess with the pretty blue skies and the lovely greens on the trees. Maybe I’ll go back in the autumn and do an Halloween-ey one??? Thanks again!!!
