This image was taken at The Keystone State – Pennsylvania group’s recent shoot in Lancaster County, PA (near Manheim) at BreakAway Farms. One of the great things about this shot, for me, is that my Dear Hubby (who came along YAY!) actually found this little bottle and placed it on the window sill for me. He even named the shot. The bottle is from the wedding of the owner of the farm … 6 years previous.

It eventually gathered quite a crowd … this is Ann, Mike and Eric all working to get just the right perspective!!!!

The bottle image taken on the morning of August 8, 2009 with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter was at 1/50, aperture f/13, exp. 0.00, iso 400. Post processing included duplication of the image 3 more times at +3, 0, -3, -8 and HDR in Photomatix, then back to Photoshop for more work with the clone tool, levels, blending with a previously multiplied layer and addition of a texture.

Oh Lois, this is STUNNING! I walked away from there feeling like I just didn’t get any magical shots of the bottle with great character. YOU sure did though! Perfect tones, textures, and edit. Remarkable! (and funny pic of the rest of us, complete with my leg in the air for balance!)

  • LOL!!! Hiiii sweetie and thank you!!!!! Well, since my Dear Hubby went to the trouble of finding it for me, I felt compelled to give this set a try. I have at least half a dozen … all different angles … some with the other windows … it was a hard choice which one to work on. Sooooooooo glad you enjoyed the group shot … I thought it really put this one in perspective and gave a great flavor of the fun we all have together at these group shots!!!!! Hugzzz!!!!

It’s amazing how much fun one can have with the simplest of subjects. I think it is just awesome that you & DH worked on this composition together Lois :) Love the texture in this image and the dark background behind the bottle sets it off nicely!

  • Hi darling child!!!! You know, you couldn’t be more right. I’ve got some screwball shots of ‘simple things’ in my portfolio that I’ve never uploaded but which to me are just so interesting!!! So glad you liked the texture, I thought that was a big part of the charm of this one. Also … the dark background did take a bit of cloning, lol … but I think it worked well!!! Hugzzz!!!
