Six little baby Canada geese and their parents out for a very early morning dip in the pond not far from my house. The watchful and wary eyes of mom and dad were definitely turned my way more than once. Happy to report that I escaped our encounter with none of my body parts having been nipped. As a child I was frequently terrified by a long-necked white goose owned by my aunt. My cousin promised to tie its neck into a knot for me, but to my knowledge, she never did. All that to say, I was somewhat cautious of these guys as I’m sure they were of me, as well!!
Image taken May 1, 2008 with the Nikon D40x and the 55-200mm VR Nikon lens. Shutter speed 1/400, aperture f/56, exposure 0.00 and iso 400. Image twiddled with in Photoshop to remove a distracting giant blade of grass, then into Photomatix it went. HDR from single, hand held image, duplicated in Photoshop at +/- 2 eval for 3 versions.
