I’m thrilled and honored and humbled to report that “Industrial Decay” has been nominated for entry into the prestigious group Pay It Forward by the darling, beautiful and talented Sandy - budrfli

*who had this to say about my image:
“Not only is her art exemplary, but her attitude and joy is inspiring and full of excited joy! Everything she enters and every comment she writes makes me smile!”

Thank you Pay It Forward group, and thank you dear Sandy-budrfli!!!!!*

I discovered this beauty on a side road, not far from Claysburg, PA. I don’t know what it was or what it manufactured. All around this area are lovely large farm homes … also in a state of sad decay.

Image taken December 28, 2008 with the Nikon D40x, and my new 18-200mm VR (YAY!) with the CP filter. I did some work on the sky (which was nasty white) to give it more of a moody appearance, gave it the old Orton, then added a dry brush layer.

A post script: Thanks to DDebil , I’m hearing that this structure is in all likelihood a feed mill where corn would be ground and molasses and other nutrients added to make feed for the hogs. Considering all of the large farms in the immediate area, this makes perfect sense!! Thank you, DDebil!!!
