I’d seen several water lily images popping up online last summer, and decided to stroll down to our pond to see if we had any, too. We did!! I had a lot of fun snapping these guys, draping off the side of the pier, precariously balanced so that I could hang down as far as possible and get a more direct view, rather than a top down. Happy to say I didn’t fall in … and neither did my camera. I did scare the great blue heron off … got a nice shot of his back parts as he flapped away.

Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens August 28, 2012 somewhere in Montgomery County, Maryland. Editing in just about every software program I own, plus textures from SolStock and Ghostbones (Jerry Jones).

Look closely for the magic!!
