One night when I was driving up here to the cabin I got to about this point, it was snowing and blowing and DARK and I’d been driving for about 3 hours … I thought for sure I was LOST!!! I kept thinking … where IS this place?? LOL!!!! The world’s sooo different in the daylight isn’t it As to the filters, the pro I talked to said to do it .. and I haven’t had a single problem!!!! Give it a try!!!

Hi Paul!!!!! Thank you so so much!!!! Our colors this year were iffy … on the days when we were really in peak, we mostly had driving rain … very frustrating. This particular shot was at a particular elevation that was just right on the day I went by. A little higher and the other side of the mountain, nothing. Down in the flatlands, nothing. So I really got lucky!!!!

I’m glad you found this one too … to ramp up your autumnal dreams, lol!!!! the funny part about this one is … we’re at about 2,000 feet here … lower down .. no color … just around the bend in the road you see there the leaves were all gone. Completely. Then a bit further up and you’re at our cabin at 3,000 feet … facing the other side of the mountain .. and again .. NOT peak colors … just on the edge. I tell ya … catching the autumn colors is like holding quick silver!!!
