Looks Best Full Size
I fell deeply, madly, wildly in love with this sweet darling baby calf at Ann Rodriguez’s farm when The Keystone Group visited recently. What struck me as I viewed the image in the monitor was the reflection of one of the trucks (cars?) in her eye. And I wondered … was she planning her escape???
Ahhh … but for opposable thumbs … what a different world this might be for her … for us all. No beef for me tonight. Pass me a piece of fish instead, please.
Image taken on August 8, 2009 near Manheim, PA with the Nikon D300 and the 18-200mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter was 1/200, aperture f/7.1, exp -.33, iso 3200. Slight cropping in Photoshop only.

Great image! Don’t we all have a vision of escape in our eye from time to time—find me reflecting images of exotic places like New Zeland or Bora Bora as I view them on the monitor!
Lois Bryan replied
Oh, so very much so!!!!! I’m thinking (hoping) these are baby milk cow / calfs (since they were right next to the milkers) ... and if not, please don’t tell me!!! But they all did have such wistful looks on their beautiful faces … and when I saw this shot full size … and saw that truck / car in her eye … well … it just got my imagination going … sigh …
elisab
So neat, your shots really tell stories. The next time I see a cow in a truck heading to market, I will think of this shot!!

Opposable thumbs lol you kill me girl i do remember the calfs but i stayed away from them because i am strongly against the treatment of the calfs that make up what we humans call veal it is crual and inhuman and thats all i got to say about that
mike
Lois Bryan replied
I hear ya, darlin’. I prefer to believe that these little darlings were being raised to be milk cows. If that’s not the case, I don’t want to know!! And that’s all I’ll say about that!!!! Hugzz!!!
